Job summary

Hanley, Flight & Zimmerman, LLC in Chicago seeks an AI Driven Software Developer and IT Coordinator. You’ll build internal apps, support attorneys and staff, and translate needs into practical software using AI tools. Strong listening and problem‑solving skills are valued.

This is a full-time in‑office role (5 days/week) with potential hybrid flexibility. Expect cross‑functional collaboration, documentation, and rapid iteration to improve workflows in a patent law environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience.
• Experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT).
• Familiarity with SQL databases and Git.
• Discretion with confidential information and client data.

Responsibilities

• Meet with attorneys, staff, and leadership to identify issues and plan actions.
• Build, test, and deploy internal applications and tools with AI coding assistants.
• Explain plans and timelines in plain language to stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve existing applications and fix root causes.
• Collaborate with IT support on networks, servers, and databases.
• Troubleshoot on-site technical issues and provide light IT support.
• Document work for future understanding and maintenance.
• Know when to escalate decisions to management.
