Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is hiring a Software Architect to set the technical direction for enterprise-scale manufacturing software. This hands-on role combines solution design, architecture, and end-to-end development, coordinating with mills, product, and enterprise stakeholders to build reliable systems.

You will integrate AI-native approaches into products, define patterns and guardrails, and lead the team in modern software lifecycle practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years shipping production software with architecture/leadership duties.
• Proven ability to design AI-native systems and evaluate build-vs-buy decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architectural direction for enterprise-scale software.
• Lead integration across MES, ERP, and data platforms via APIs and events.
• Architect AI-native features (RAG, agent frameworks) into products.
• Mentor teams and raise engineering standards through hands-on leadership.
