Job summary

Silfex, a Lam Research Company, invites a Crystal Growth Process Engineer to advance silicon crystal manufacturing from research to mass production. You will apply data analysis, multi-physics simulations and ML techniques to improve yield and efficiency, while overseeing crystal-growing equipment on the manufacturing floor.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance and other stakeholders to meet production goals, requiring a strong materials science background and proactive problem

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a relevant field with strong experimental background.
• Experience with microscopy or materials characterization methods (optical/electron microscopy, XRD).
• Familiarity with multi-physics simulations and data interpretation.
• Knowledge of statistical process control and DOE.
• Strong data analysis skills; exposure to ML/AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process engineering research and evaluation for silicon crystal manufacturing.
• Use multi-physics simulations, materials testing, and characterization techniques to assess material specs and performance.
• Analyze data for process development; apply ML/AI approaches.
• Review literature and industry best practices to improve yield, quality, and efficiency.
• Collaborate across functions to support R&D and manufacturing; communicate technical results clearly.
• Provide technical leadership on the manufacturing floor and support time-critical projects.
