Job summary

Jiffy is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer to lead AI-driven coding agent initiatives across the e-commerce stack, from storefront to internal tools. You will translate product intent into executable agent plans, review diffs, and drive production quality with fast, parallel work streams.

The role emphasizes architecture, mentoring, and shipping at pace in an AI-first org. You will collaborate across Product, GM’s, and cross-functional teams while ensuring secure, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems at scale.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents as a primary development tool.
• Ability to run multiple agents in parallel and manage concurrent work streams without losing quality, context, or accountability.
• Strong software design fundamentals: OO design, API design, data modeling, distributed-system reliability, and performance.
• Proficiency in at least one server-side language and one modern frontend stack (React/TypeScript).
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL), SQL, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Elite code-review skills: read, critique, and correct diffs quickly.
• Strong written communication in an AI-first engineering context.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate AI coding agents across 3–6 concurrent work streams for features, refactors, and investigations.
• Own features end-to-end from product intent to production health.
• Design and architect scalable systems across Rails 8, GraphQL APIs, React frontend, and Kubernetes infra.
• Raise the quality bar on AI-generated code by catching hallucinated APIs and enforcing best practices.
• Build and evolve internal AI tooling, skills, rules, and integrations.
• Operate with production rigor: drive tests, monitor deployments, respond to incidents, own services.
• Partner with Product, Design, Ops, and Eng teams on architecture and reviews; mentor others in AI-native workflows.
• Automate remaining manual work with agents to improve QA, ops, and data migrations.
