Job summary

The Voleon Group seeks an Associate Quantitative Trader to learn our automated market-making desk from the ground up. You will monitor live trading, risk, and strategy behavior while building pipelines, analytics, and automation to scale the desk.

Mentorship from senior traders fosters growth in market microstructure and electronic execution. The role is hands-on, data-driven, and office-based, aligned with U.S.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion for financial markets and startup environments.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL for data analysis beyond AI tools.
• Hands-on experience with large, complex datasets end to end.
• Strong foundation in statistics and mathematical reasoning.
• Comfort with Unix-like environments and version control.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or scientific field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor automated execution and portfolio risk during U.S. market hours.
• Track real-time developments across credit, rates, and ETF markets.
• Design and build data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics.
• Apply statistics to produce actionable trading insights.
• Contribute to the codebase underlying automated operations.
• Interface with clients, venues, and clearing counterparties.
• Help extend the desk into new asset classes and markets.
• Obtain and maintain FINRA licenses (e.g., Series 7/57).
