Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering & Assurance team, focusing on AI-driven testing for mission-critical applications. You will design and maintain automation frameworks in Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and collaborate with product and dev teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing of AI/ML systems, including chatbots, with exposure to CI/CD and modern testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0 – 1 years of professional experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering role.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts and frameworks using Java and Python.
• Basic understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile/Scrum.
• Interest in AI-powered applications such as chatbots.
• Hands-on experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Docker.
• A passion for learning and staying up to date with the latest trends in AI and software testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing with Swagger YAML, Postman, or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries.
• Own quality for assigned features; create test cases, execute tests, and sign off.
• Track and report testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM; understand CI/CD concepts.
• Implement and execute test plans for AI/ML applications, including chatbots testing.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate test script development and data creation.
• Ensure AI reliability and fairness: test for bias and model robustness.
• Develop and maintain scripts and frameworks in Java and Python.
