The Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) is inviting ambitious engineering students to join the Summer 2027 Internship Program in Pittsburgh. You will be integrated into a high-performance team tackling mission-critical challenges, with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge security and software engineering research.

Successful candidates will work on-site, collaborate across disciplines, and explore how Agentic AI and LLMs can augment development workflows.

Formación

Current enrollment in a degree-granting program (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering).
Ability to work on-site at the SEI Pittsburgh, PA office for the duration of the summer 2027 internship.
Ability to pass a background check.
Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsabilidades

Prototyping & Development: Designing and implementing software prototypes to address emerging security and engineering challenges.
Vulnerability Research: Analyzing codebases to identify weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and potential attack vectors.
Resilience Engineering: Researching and implementing novel methods to improve software robustness and system resilience.
Innovation: Developing new tools, techniques, and automated processes to solve complex software problems faced by the US Government.
Scholarly Contribution: Depending on the scope of your project, you may have the opportunity to co-author research findings for publication in academic or industry forums.
