Job summary

WD is seeking a self-driven Configuration Specialist Engineer to join the Applications Engineering team in Fremont and San Jose, focusing on migrating legacy factories to AI autonomous manufacturing. You will contribute to MES support and develop manufacturing models for wafer fabrication, gaining exposure across semiconductor manufacturing domains.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong communication, and coding abilities, with preferred experience in semiconductor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, industrial engineering, operations research, or a related field.
• Proven ability to excel in cross-functional team environments.
• Proficient coding ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated strength in problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Interact with business owners and customers in wafer fabrication operations and collaborate with internal IT teams.
• Support existing software models in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for Fremont (FRE).
• Develop new process and manufacturing models to meet factory requirements.
• Collaborate with IT on bug identification and resolution and future MES development.
• Support and append existing legacy MES configuration.
• Develop new models to replace legacy MES.
