Job summary

Western Digital is seeking a Configuration Specialist Engineer in manufacturing execution systems to join the Applications Engineering team in Fremont. This role contributes to migrating legacy factories to AI autonomous manufacturing and provides exposure to semiconductor manufacturing across Fremont and San Jose.

The team supports factory systems and manufacturing software for wafer fabrication and interfaces with IT for MES development and enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, industrial engineering, operations research, or a related field.
• Proven ability to excel in cross-functional team environments.
• Proficient coding ability.

Responsibilities

• Interact with business owners and customers in wafer fabrication operations and collaborate with internal IT teams.
• Support existing software models in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for Fremont (FRE).
• Develop new process and manufacturing models to meet factory requirements.
• Collaborate with IT on bug identification and resolution and future MES development.
• Support and append existing legacy MES configuration.
• Develop new models to replace legacy MES.
