Job summary

Meta is seeking a System Failure Analysis Engineer to join the Hardware Quality and Reliability Engineering team. You will investigate field failures from devices including VR/AR hardware and wearables, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions to improve product reliability.

You will leverage Python, C++, and AI tooling to build automated analysis solutions, perform fault isolation, and contribute to design improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of hardware failure analysis, quality engineering, or reliability engineering for consumer electronics.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, for data analysis, automation, or tool development.

Responsibilities

• Perform Early Field Failure Analysis (EFFA) and Ongoing Field Failure Analysis (OFFA) on returned or customer-reported hardware units across Meta's consumer device portfolio.
• Build and deploy AI-powered tools and machine learning models to automate failure classification and anomaly detection.
• Develop data pipelines and scripts to streamline failure analysis workflows and improve diagnostic efficiency.
