Job summary

Plug Consulting is building AI-powered software for government and enterprise clients. You will own features end-to-end, shipping full-stack applications from API design to UI, while collaborating with leadership and end users.

The role focuses on hands-on development across backend, data workflows, and AI features, with opportunities to influence architecture in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with React, Next.js and Python.
• Experience building AI agents or integrating LLM APIs into production applications.
• Track record of shipping full-stack products end-to-end.
• Experience in Seed to Series B startup or clear product ownership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers.
• Proactive, resourceful approach suited to an early-stage environment.
• Interest in government, defence or national-security technology.
• Experience with data pipelines or large-scale web scraping desirable.
• Previous government or defence experience desirable.
• Active security clearance desirable.
• Strong computer science degree preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Building and shipping full-stack web applications used by real customers.
• Developing backend services, APIs and data workflows.
• Designing intuitive, polished interfaces.
• Building AI agents and integrating LLM APIs.
• Working directly with customers to gather feedback and improve the product.
• Contributing to technical architecture and engineering standards as the team grows.
