Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is hiring a Dry Etch Process Engineer for our Albany, NY site. You will develop and optimize plasma etch processes for next‑generation memory devices, working hands-on with etch equipment, chamber hardware, and metrology.

You will collaborate with integration, lithography, and manufacturing teams to mature processes from R&D into high‑volume production. Responsibilities include process development, metrology-driven defect reduction, and data-driven optimization.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in EE, materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical or mechanical engineering.
• BS with 3+ years semiconductor processing experience considered for similar role.
• Experience in semiconductor process development or sustaining engineering with DOE planning/execution and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and sustain dry etch (plasma) unit processes for memory technologies.
• Optimize CD control, etch profile, selectivity, uniformity, and roughness.
• Drive defect reduction and yield improvement using inline metrology and DOE.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with equipment vendors on chamber matching and new capability evaluations.
