Job summary
MGT Insurance, based in San Francisco, seeks an experienced commercial P&C underwriter to evaluate submissions, apply guidelines, and manage a book of business with precision. You will collaborate with brokers and leverage AI-assisted tools and the Athena platform as part of a modern, tech-forward underwriting workflow.
Ideal candidates have 3–6 years in commercial underwriting, experience with BOP and ISO forms, and a strong drive for continuous improvement within a growing, elite insurance
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
- Carrier or MGA underwriting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO forms and standard policy language is a plus.
- Comfort working in a technology-forward environment with AI-assisted tools.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and make underwriting decisions on commercial P&C submissions (BOP, GL, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto).
- Apply underwriting guidelines to assess risk quality, class eligibility, coverage structure, and pricing.
- Review renewals and manage a book of business with proper documentation.
- Respond to broker submissions and maintain broker/partner relationships.
- Engage with Athena AI and other tech platforms as part of daily workflow.
