Job summary

Wiz in New York is seeking a Threat Detection Researcher to advance the Wiz Runtime Sensor as part of our threat research team. You will develop detections for cloud and AI workloads and translate research insights into product features.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in security research, strong OS internals knowledge, cloud/Kubernetes experience, and Python proficiency (Go/Rust/C/C++ a plus). You’ll collaborate with customers and the R&D team to strengthen our security platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of security or threat research with actionable results.
• Deep knowledge of OS internals (Windows, Linux, macOS) and networking.
• Experience with cloud services, Kubernetes, and major providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in Python for tooling and automation; Go/Rust/C/C++ a plus.
• Experience delivering detections in customer-facing products.
• Self-driven, goal-oriented with strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop detections and tooling to protect customers from cloud threats.
• Investigate attacks on cloud environments and threats to AI workloads.
• Hunt and analyze real-world attacks and emerging cloud threats.
• Collaborate with R&D to translate research into product features.
• Engage with customers on suspicious activity or incidents.
• Create best practices and security policies from research.
• Produce external content (blogs/talks) based on research insights.
