Job summary

Palo Alto Networks seeks a world-class Principal Engineer (Sr Manager-equivalent) to lead AI-driven tooling within our CIPE org at the Santa Clara HQ. Architect strategy to embed intelligence across the developer lifecycle—from ideation to deployment and observability, boosting velocity and quality.

You will mentor senior engineers, influence multi-cloud platform choices (AWS/Azure/GCP), and drive cross‑functional initiatives with executive visibility in a security-first environment.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software engineering with leadership.
• Experience leading large cross-organizational initiatives from concept to completion.
• Experience scaling platforms serving thousands of engineers in complex environments.
• Security by design and cloud-native infrastructure expertise.
• Expertise in developer platforms and multi-cloud strategy.

Responsibilities

• Define vision and own the technical roadmap for AI-enhanced developer tools and infrastructure in CIPE at Palo Alto Networks.
• Lead design and implementation of systems using LLMs, static/dynamic analysis, and ML to create an intelligent developer experience.
• Drive organization-wide impact with measurable improvements in code velocity, review cycles, and test effectiveness.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across engineering organizations and leadership.
• Enable secure innovation by prototyping and deploying threat-aware cloud features with security baked in.
• Serve as technical authority, mentoring senior engineers and infusing best practices.
• Address multi-cloud challenges (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) at enterprise scale.
