Job summary

The Department of Biostatistics & Data Science at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Statistical AI and Biomedical Data Science. The successful candidate will build an externally funded research program, collaborate with KUCC and other KUMC centers, and contribute to methodological advances in AI, omics, and clinical research.

The faculty member will teach graduate courses in biostatistics and data science, mentor students

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or statistical learning.
• Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration in biomedical research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain external funding in statistical AI and biomedical data science.
• Collaborate with KUCC investigators and other KUMC centers.
• Teach graduate courses in biostatistics, statistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.
• Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff.
• Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities.
• Contribute to the Enhanced Artificial Intelligence Center for Human-Focused Research.
