Job summary

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to recruit experienced audit and controls professionals, focusing on external and internal audits including SOX. You will translate real audit work into structured, high-quality training data that teaches AI to reason like auditors.

You will design scenarios, review AI outputs for accuracy, provide clear feedback, and collaborate asynchronously with the research team to advance audit and controls tasks.

Qualifications

• CPA or CIA certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Public accounting audit background (Big 4 or regional firm) and/or internal audit/controls (SOX) experience preferred.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic audit scenarios: planning, scoping, risk assessment, fieldwork, sampling & testing workpapers; audit report and wrap-up; PBC support; SOX controls documentation and testing; remediation validation.
• Review and compare AI-generated audit outputs for accuracy, evidential support, and sound professional judgment.
• Provide clear written feedback to improve AI performance on audit and controls tasks.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research team.
