Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced technologist to lead application security for AI-enabled development in a fast-moving enterprise. You will craft security strategies across SDLC/CI/CD, define safe AI coding patterns, and mentor teams on secure AI practices to protect confidential data and systems.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, automated checks, and collaboration with security and development partners to strengthen reliability and trust in AI-powered tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4 years' experience in application security.
• Or 6 years' experience in application security at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Responsibilities

• Develop application security strategy for AI-assisted development across SDLC and CI/CD.
• Establish architecture patterns for safe use of AI coding assistants including data-handling and model boundaries.
• Champion AI security controls that are developer-first, fast, and low-friction while adhering to enterprise policy.
• Quantify defect rates and risk between human vs. AI-generated changes.
• Author secure coding standards for AI-generated code and drive adoption with telemetry.
• Assess risks of AI code contributions and codify automated checks.
• Orchestrate security tools and connect findings to AI remediation workflows.
• Pre-train and fine-tune enterprise AI coding agents on secure patterns and vetted libraries.
