Job summary

Active Site is recruiting a Molecular Biology Research Associate for a 12-week, on-site project in Somerville, MA.

Work 4 hours daily, Monday–Friday, with two shift options; compensation is $40 per hour plus a $2,000 performance bonus.

You will design and execute DNA assembly experiments, perform PCR and gel work, analyze sequencing data, and explore AI-assisted design in a state-of-the-art BSL-1 lab.

Qualifications

• Real hands-on DNA experience required.
• Ability to set up and run PCRs and interpret gels.
• Experience with cloning workflows is a strong plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot experiments and work independently.
• Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's or Master's in relevant biology fields.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute DNA assembly experiments.
• Set up PCR reactions and troubleshoot.
• Analyze sequencing results using Benchling.
• Perform molecular cloning and prepare samples for sequencing.
• Work with frontier AI tools to inform experimental design.
