Job summary

Zscaler is seeking an AI DevOps Engineer to design and ship automation for provisioning environments, enforcing security baselines, and integrating AI-assisted tooling across a multi-cloud platform.

You will reduce toil and boost operational consistency by building scalable automation, while collaborating with Security, IAM, Network, and FinOps teams to implement guardrails and compliant workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating multi-cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Hands-on Terraform module design, state management, and CI-driven workflows.
• Scripting automation with Python, Bash, or equivalent languages.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and Kubernetes operations.
• Understanding of identity federation, secrets management, and least-privilege security patterns.
• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools integrated into daily workflows.

• Build Day 1 automation: infrastructure provisioning pipelines, account vending, golden repo templates, and CI/CD components.
• Build Day 2 automation for lifecycle management, upgrade pipelines, dependency scanning, drift detection, and automated remediation.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules, GitLab CI/CD components, and Python automation defining the paved road.
• Embed AI and agentic tooling into operational workflows to accelerate delivery and reduce manual intervention.
• Partner with Security, IAM, Network, and FinOps to translate requirements into automated guardrails.

Role overview

An engineering team operating a large internal cloud platform is hiring an AI DevOps Engineer to design and ship automation that provisions environments, enforces security baselines, and integrates AI-assisted tooling. The role focuses on reducing manual toil and increasing operational consistency across multi-cloud infrastructure, with an emphasis on agentic workflows and a paved-road developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build Day 1 automation including infrastructure provisioning pipelines, account vending, golden repo templates, and CI/CD components
• Build Day 2 automation for lifecycle management, upgrade pipelines, dependency scanning, drift detection, and automated remediation
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules, GitLab CI/CD components, and Python automation that define the platform's paved road
• Embed AI and agentic tooling into operational workflows to accelerate delivery and reduce manual intervention
• Partner with Security, IAM, Network, and FinOps teams to translate cross-functional requirements into automated guardrails

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating multi-cloud infrastructure at scale across major cloud platforms
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform, including module design, state management, and CI-driven workflows
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or equivalent languages
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and Kubernetes operations
• Understanding of identity federation, secrets management, and least-privilege security patterns
• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools integrated into daily workflows

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-account governance tooling such as AWS Control Tower, Organizations, SCPs, or RCPs
• Familiarity with GitOps patterns and automated infrastructure lifecycle tooling such as Renovate, Dependabot, or ArgoCD
• Experience with MLOps frameworks (Kubeflow, MLflow) and managed model services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Gemini Enterprise
