Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Design Expert for a remote contract to help evaluate and grade AI-assisted design work. You will develop precise grading criteria for brand identity systems, visuals, and packaging, and score both AI-generated and human samples with clear written justifications.

You should have 5+ years in graphic or brand design, experience at top studios or leading brands, and mastery of typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in graphic, brand, or visual design.
• Background at world-class design studios or senior roles at leading brands.
• Deep fluency in typography, layout, visual hierarchy, color and brand systems.
• Exceptionally strong written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable with judgment being reviewed.

Responsibilities

• Design precise, task-specific grading criteria for brand identity systems, visuals, and packaging concepts.
• Score AI-generated and human work samples against established criteria, with detailed written justifications.
• Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure scores are reproducible and defensible.
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly on your work.
• Collaborate asynchronously and work independently to meet deadlines and improve AI model performance.
