Job summary

AbbVie seeks an experienced AI Data Scientist II to join its FAiM Team, working at the intersection of machine learning and artificial intelligence within Global Therapeutics. You will leverage AI to transform clinical data operations and accelerate drug discovery while collaborating with IT and business stakeholders.

The role requires leading multiple projects, translating complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and building scalable data solutions using AWS and FastAPI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field and 5 years of experience; OrMaster’sDegreeand 4 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML in clinical or pharmaceutical contexts.
• Hands-on experience using large language models and machine learning algorithms.
• Strong programming skills in Python with emphasis on data science libraries
• Experience with Knowledge Graphs and associated Python packages
• Experience building applications on AWS infrastructure specifically ECS.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Background in life sciences or work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions to solve complex clinical and pharmaceutical challenges.
• Develop and maintain backend systems using FastAPI for robust data processing pipelines.
• Develop automations utilizing Robotic Process Automation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical scientists, IT, and business stakeholders to include technical timelines and planning.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• Translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external vendors to stay informed on AI trends and best practices.
• Independently design and develop business technology solutions to answer scientific or business questions through integration, visualization, and analysis of data.
• Demonstrate proficiency across a range of technologies related to storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data sets.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.
• Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations.
