Job summary

Microsoft is seeking a Data Analyst to support OCR processing and large dataset management for AI model training. You will monitor workflows, ensure metadata accuracy, and coordinate Azure storage transfers for dataset deliveries.

The role emphasizes quality control, logging, and standard operating procedures to support model-training data pipelines. Onsite in Redmond with contract duration of 8 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on data analysis, data operations, or dataset management.
• Experience organizing files in cloud storage environments.
• Experience with AI training-data operations is a plus.
• Background at a large technology company is preferred.
• Proficiency with PDF, text, CSV, and JSON formats.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor OCR workflows, processing queues, and job status.
• Review logs to identify exceptions and escalate issues to engineers.
• Maintain batch tracking records and coordinate reruns and priorities.
• Validate OCR outputs against source documents using sampling methods.
• Identify missing pages, unreadable text, and formatting problems.
• Run cleaning and validation tools and flag questionable changes.
• Maintain issue logs and track corrections through resolution.
• Summarize quality trends and suggest process improvements.
• Organize data using folder structures and versioning standards.
• Prepare dataset delivery packages with manifests and quality summaries.
• Manage uploads, downloads, and transfers in Azure storage.
• Verify transfer completion and integrity using established tools.
• Investigate routine transfer failures and coordinate with admins.
• Follow data-access and retention procedures and maintain delivery records.
