Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join its AI team and build data pipelines powering model training and next-generation AI products. We develop datasets at petabyte scale, optimizing quality, throughput, and cost.

You will collaborate with AI scientists, take ownership from problem discovery to implementation, and help scale systems for training. A strong backend focus with Python and Bash on Linux is essential, in a remote, distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems and data pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Discover new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines for training datasets.
• Build and optimize large-scale data-processing systems focusing on quality, throughput and cost.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists to improve training datasets and models.
• Take ownership of projects from problem discovery through implementation and iteration.
