Mayo Clinic's AI and Data Analytics (AIDA) team within the Department of Radiation Oncology is hiring a Research Fellow to advance the next generation of AI in cancer care. This role offers engagement with clinicians and researchers to deploy AI tools in real-world settings.

You will lead research translating novel ideas into clinically usable AI solutions that impact patient care and workflow efficiency across Mayo Clinic's campuses.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field.
• Strong background in modern machine learning (e.g., deep learning, transformers).
• Strong experience with Python and ML ecosystems (PyTorch, JAX, scikit-learn).
• Strong communication skills: write and present complex ideas clearly.
• Self-motivated, execution-focused, and comfortable owning ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy impactful AI: develop, implement, and evaluate ML models in real clinical settings.
• Work on end-to-end systems: integrate AI tools into clinical workflows.
• Lead ambitious research: design and execute projects with a multidisciplinary team.
