We seek a Senior Technical Lead to design and build a centralized platform that enables consistent, transparent, and well‑controlled use of artificial intelligence across our firm.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the vision, architecture, and roadmap for the firm’s AI control framework platform
- Translate control objectives (e.g., governance, explainability, monitoring, approvals, auditability) into practical, reusable platform capabilities
- Ensure the platform supports the full AI lifecycle, from use‑case intake and model development through deployment, monitoring, and retirement
- Partner closely with Model Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Privacy, and Audit to ensure platform capabilities align with internal policies and external regulatory expectations, including GDPR, DORA, Sarbanes–Oxley, and other regulatory needs
- Ensure the platform enables consistent evidence generation for internal reviews and regulatory examinations
- Drive adoption of the control framework platform across AI product, engineering, and data science teams
- Establish metrics to assess control effectiveness, platform usage, and operational resilience
- Provide senior management with transparent reporting on AI control maturity, coverage, and risk themes
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on how controls are operationalized through technology
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technology platform leadership, risk technology, or enterprise controls, including senior leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience building platforms that operationalize governance, controls, or risk frameworks
- Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics operating models
- Experience working within heavily regulated industries, preferably financial services
- Proven ability to operate at the intersection of technology, risk, and business leadership
- Excellent communication skills and sound judgment in complex, high‑impact situations
- Experience designing or implementing model governance, AI control frameworks, or supervisory tooling
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to model risk management, explainability, and operational controls
- Hands‑on exposure to data platforms, AI pipelines, MLOps, or platform engineering

Lazard offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary in the range of approximately $180,000–$200,000, supplemented by comprehensive benefits and potential incentive compensation.
