Noumena is creating the world's first full-stack intelligence system: a comprehensive AI platform that integrates and optimizes every layer from infrastructure to user experience. Unlike competitors who focus primarily on scaling model size, Noumena's approach is rooted in strategic specialization and system-level optimization.

Our product suite launching in Summer 2025 includes Noumena Coder: an intelligent coding assistant capable of deep refactors, multi-file PR planning, and long-range reasoning, all powered by our tailored routing across specialized models with 10M+ context lengths and adaptive compute scaling.

About the Role

We're hiring an AI Code Tool Developer to lead the development of Noumena Coder, our flagship intelligent coding assistant. This role sits at the intersection of applied ML, systems engineering, and product development, with a deep focus on creating an AI coding tool that genuinely understands context, maintains coherence across complex projects, and delivers transformative value to developers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core functionality for Noumena Coder, focusing on deep refactors, multi-file PR planning, and long-range reasoning capabilities
• Optimize inference-side logic for high-performance code generation, analysis, and transformation
• Build data flows, routing layers, and memory systems that maintain context across complex coding projects
• Collaborate on prompt engineering and system behavior tuning specifically for programming tasks
• Develop and tune specialized routing across our models for coding-specific tasks
• Work closely with product designers to translate technical capabilities into intuitive interfaces
• Rigorously test and improve the system against real-world coding challenges
• Contribute to building the underlying operator and model APIs that power the coding assistant

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

• Have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building developer tools
• Are passionate about AI's application to coding workflows
• Understand both the technical aspects of code generation and the UX needs of developers
• Are excited to build production AI systems
• Know your way around modern model APIs and transformer behavior
• Have a deep understanding of what frustrates developers about current AI coding tools
• Possess deep curiosity about the latest AI research and applications
• Are motivated to transform software development through AI

Strong Candidates May Also Have Experience With:

• TypeScript, Python, Rust
• Inference stack internals and optimization
• Token accounting, routing logic, and caching strategies for AI systems
• IDE extensions or integrations
• Static analysis tools or compilers
• Code generation, transformation, or analysis systems
• UX-focused debugging of model outputs specifically for code
• Large-context programming operations (refactorings, multi-file changes)
