Atlys is hiring a Backend Engineer (AI) to design and build AI-native backend services that orchestrate LLMs, agents, and tools across core travel visa workflows. You’ll own production‑grade systems, focusing on reliability, scale, and cost efficiency, using Python and async frameworks.

LLM API experience and RL techniques are highly valued as you ship new AI-powered features. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with strong emphasis on testing, observability, and collaboration across product

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of backend engineering experience with production LLM-powered features.
• Strong Python backend skills with async programming.
• Experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Hands-on with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and building blocks like prompt design, tool calling, structured outputs, and vector DBs.
• Solid fundamentals in databases, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka/SQS, AWS/GCP).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to agent frameworks (LangGraph, LlamaIndex) and RL concepts (RLHF/RLAIF).
• Nice-to-have fintech/travel/high-compliance domain exposure.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-native backend services in Python that orchestrate LLMs and tool calls across core workflows.
• Create evals and RL loops to measure model quality and continuously improve agent performance.
• Scale for volume and cost with async, event-driven architectures ensuring latency and cost efficiency.
• Own end-to-end systems from design to production with strong testing, monitoring, and observability.
