At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As part of a hardworking team of systems problem solvers, you will directly support Blue Origin’s success by leading pivotal initiatives that support effective development, testing, verification, certification, and operations of a varied portfolio of supply chain tools that impact all Blue Origin programs. Your role will consist of taking your understanding of our products and procedures and listening to the problems of our key partners across Operations and Engineering to 1) identify new digital and procedural solutions opportunities, 2) create a streamlined well-defined problem statement, 3) generate options and evaluate various solutions that link directly to the company goals, 4) developing and managing roadmap execution using iterative value delivery in small pieces that improve the work processes that our teams complete, and 5) supervise the implementation of the roadmap results to be sure they are accomplishing the stated value.

At Blue Origin, we are dedicated to building an authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align flawlessly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Responsibilities
  • Understand user’s needs and behaviors through collaborative research methodologies, interviews, and workshops to identify new opportunities and solutions around the future of safe, reliable, reusable propulsion systems
  • Develop strategies and approaches that will enable the capabilities of the future.
  • Use prototyping & experimentation to drive decision-making and measure the impact of the experiences we’re building quantitatively
  • Collaborate closely with multi-functional team members and a broad set of partners (internal and external) from business executives, design and research partners, product owners, and supply chain teams through an iterative design process for framing, problem-solving, and synthesis of design problems.
  • Establish, document, and improve processes and products specific to supply chain needs consistent with innovative processes while maintaining the speed, agility, and efficiency of a startup operation. The processes established will support collecting vital compliance data, improve cycle time, and user acceptance, and will reduce defects and rework
  • Champion thoughtful, well-rounded experiences and create clear and concise design strategies for achieving them across emerging and often ambiguous intersections of technology and human experiences
  • Scout and propose innovative technologies in a wide variety of business areas (e.g., engineering, analysis, operations, testing, verification)
  • Develop and communicate tool roadmaps and plans to leadership and partners
  • Evaluate and facilitate commercial software purchases and deployment in a fast-paced environment
  • We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
