Job summary

Baseten is hiring an AI/automation engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered workflows that automate capacity management for Compute and C3. You will audit existing tooling, identify gaps, and ship high-impact automation while integrating internal systems and third-party APIs.

You will leverage Claude Code and other agent tooling to create durable, production-ready solutions, aligning with Baseten's scale and architecture goals in a fast-growing AI infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in AI/automation engineering, workflow automation, or a technical operations role.
• You've shipped production agents on Vercel, building durable internal apps and agents.
• Genuine fluency with AI coding assistants and agent tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex).
• Direct experience with a CRM or system-of-record platform (Salesforce or similar).
• A track record of owning end-to-end AI and automation workflows.
• Proficiency with integration and automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, Workato).
• Experience in high-growth technology companies, infrastructure, cloud, or operations-heavy environments.

Responsibilities

• Ship AI-powered workflows for Compute and C3 to automate capacity processes.
• Turn fleet utilization and demand data into dashboards, alerts, and actionable recommendations.
• Audit the stack, identify gaps, and generate a prioritized backlog.
• Deliver team-productivity workflows to accelerate provisioning and repairs.
• Decide when to build bespoke solutions in Claude Code vs. existing tools.
• Consider upstream/downstream impacts across Supply, Demand, and Engineering.
• Integrate third-party APIs and internal systems to sync events and data.
• Document everything to ensure discoverability and trust in the tooling.
