Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Chandler, AZ, seeks an AI / Automation Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions across engineering and infrastructure. This 100% onsite role focuses on AI/ML-driven automation from day one.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, containerized apps (Docker/Kubernetes), and agent orchestration with LLM services, RAG pipelines, and vector databases. Strong Linux, Python or Go, and cloud or on‑prem deployment experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional experience (Level 2) or higher qualifications for Level 3.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. DoD Secret clearance.
• Hands-on Linux experience with scripting and system configuration.
• Proficiency in Python or Go with strong software development, debugging, and testing.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience developing and deploying AI/ML capabilities.
• Experience with APIs and integrating models into applications or agentic frameworks.
• Experience hosting AI/ML models in cloud or on‑prem environments.
• Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, hosting, tuning, and inference optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug AI/ML capabilities to automate engineering workflows.
• Automate processes by building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and AI-enabled tooling in a DevOps environment.
• Build and maintain agent orchestration frameworks that integrate with LLM services and engineering tools.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) for portability and reliability.
• Implement and support RAG pipelines and vector databases for intelligent retrieval and decision making.
• Provide infrastructure support: troubleshoot, optimize performance, ensure high availability and observability.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and infra teams to identify automation opportunities and productionize them.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
