Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Poway, CA, seeks an AI & Automation Engineer to lead AI initiatives within the Finance Solutions team.

You will design and deploy AI/ML solutions, enhance tools with RAG, and collaborate with Finance, ITS, and business units to automate journal entries, forecasting, reconciliation and reporting. You will build data pipelines with Python/SQL, utilize Azure ML and Power BI, and ensure governance, security, and compliance throughout the project

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline with 5+ years of professional applications developer experience.
• 5+ years of experience with AI/ML applications in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Azure AI Services, Azure ML, Power BI, and Copilot.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions including LLMs, agents, and predictive models.
• Apply prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to enhance internal AI tools.
• Use ML methods to improve model accuracy, data management, and automation.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting to translate workflows into scalable AI solutions.
• Integrate AI and automation with SAP and other financial platforms.
• Ensure AI implementations meet compliance, data security, and governance standards.
• Lead end-to-end solution lifecycles, deployment, testing, rollout and continuous improvement.
