Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking an Intermediate Learning Systems Developer to join the Learning Systems Software Development Team. You will design, develop, and manage enterprise-wide applications and data integrations used by 80,000+ students, faculty, and staff.

You will leverage AI tools, containerized CI systems, and collaboration with LS and other teams to deliver robust, data-rich solutions aligned with OSU's mission. Regular shift with potential off-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Frontend Development: 2 years of experience building responsive, accessible web applications using React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and modern CSS layout models (Flexbox, Grid, Tailwind CSS).
• Backend Development & APIs: Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using ASP.NET Core (.NET 8+), EF Core, and building/integrating RESTful Web APIs.
• Database Management: 1-2 years of experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL) or in-memory/NoSQL datastores (Redis).
• Version Control: Proficiency with version control (Git).
• AI‑Augmented Engineering: Practical experience utilizing AI developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Kiro CLI) for code generation, refactoring, unit testing, and documentation.
• Code Integrity: Strong foundation in software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable enterprise applications and data integrations.
• Provide ongoing daily support and incident resolution for all LS applications and related issues.
• Collaborate with Learning Systems team and other teams to meet established industry standards and requirements.
