Job summary

HiddenLayer is seeking a hands‑on Lead Engineer, AI Attack Simulation to own the technical direction and execution of our attack simulation product. You will lead architecture and development of systems translating adversarial AI research into safe, measurable security testing capabilities.

You will partner with Product Management and Security Research to shape strategy, understand customer problems, evaluate opportunities, and define outcomes the team is working toward.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical leadership of complex production systems.
• Strong backend, distributed‑systems, and cloud‑native engineering experience.
• Experience building an AI‑first product development workflow spanning discovery to measurement.
• Track record of owning customer problems, product tradeoffs, and outcomes.
• Experience with production AI or agentic systems including tool use and state management.
• Cybersecurity product experience or related offensive security/attack simulation domain is a plus.
• Proficiency in Go and at least one other production language (Python/Java/Rust/TypeScript).

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction, architecture, and execution of HiddenLayer’s AI Attack Simulation product.
• Partner with Product and Security Research to define strategy, understand outcomes, and shape the roadmap.
• Design and build agentic workflows, tool integrations, execution systems, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
• Establish an AI‑first product development workflow across discovery, prototyping, implementation, validation, and release.
• Ensure engineers understand customer problems and take ownership beyond ticket execution.
• Remain hands‑on with architecture, prototyping, and complex technical challenges.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, support hiring, and raise reliability, security, and observability standards.
