Advanced Systems Design is seeking an AI Architect for a client project in Montgomery, AL. The role is onsite, requiring day-one presence, and involves building agentic AI tools using Python, deploying them in Docker environments, and maintaining LLMs with vLLM while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

You will document workflows, develop training materials, and collaborate with the CIO and AI Director in a fast-paced, government-oriented setting. Strong security reviews and agile teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and testing AI applications in production environments.
• Familiarity with containerized deployment, LLMs, and AI infrastructure.
• Ability to document, train users, and explain AI systems clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain AI applications and agentic tools (Python-based).
• Deploy, operate, and monitor AI apps in Docker containers and production environments.
• Create documentation and deliver both in-person and on-demand training materials.
• Assist with server administration tasks for AI deployments and monitoring.
• Ensure security reviews of code and Docker images, addressing vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to agile development processes and version control with Git/Azure DevOps.

Job description

Advanced Systems Design is seeking an AI Architect for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.

Job Overview and Requirements:

• AI Application Development and Testing
  • Develop, maintain, and test agentic tools using Python as the primary programming language.
  • Assist with development of system architecture
  • Build and maintain MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers for AI application integration.
  • Create and maintain other AI applications as directed by the AI Director and Lead AI Developer.
• Deployment, Operation, and Maintenance
  • Deploy, operate, and maintain developed AI applications in production environments. Most AI applications run as Docker containers.
  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of Large Language Models (LLMs) using vLLM in Docker containerized environments.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of Open WebUI instances and configurations.
  • Provide ongoing support for developed applications to ensure operational stability.
• Documentation and Training
  • Develop documentation and training materials for user education in the use of AI applications.
  • Assist with the Development and delivery of training sessions in-person at Medicaid or recorded sessions for on-demand training.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of Alabama Medicaid AI knowledge bases used for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Server Administration Support
  • Assist the AI Director and Lead AI Developer with server admin tasks related to AI server and application deployments.
  • Assist the AI Director and Lead AI Developer with AI model testing and fine-tuning activities.
  • Monitor system health and performance of AI infrastructure components.
• Security and Compliance
  • Work with the Information Security Office to ensure that developed code and Docker images have been reviewed for security vulnerabilities.
  • Work to resolve any security vulnerabilities that are discovered.
  • Ensure all AI applications comply with Alabama Medicaid Agency security policies and healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA).
• Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with other AI-related tasks at the direction of the CIO, AI Director, and Lead AI Developer as needed.
  • Participate in agile development processes and team collaboration activities.
  • Maintain version control of all code and documentation using Git, Azure DevOps, and other approved tools.
