AI and ML Research and Development Technologist

The Opportunity:

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning (ML) is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support clients.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced artificial intelligence (AI) and ML research and development (R&D) technologist with a background in integrating AI and ML into the framework of Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS). You will help build and lead an R&D team in developing and integrating cutting-edge AI and ML technologies into autonomous systems. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of advanced algorithms and software solutions that enable the effective operation of trusted autonomous systems. You will conduct experiments to explore new AI and ML technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, system engineers, and product managers to ensure the successful integration of these technologies into the IAS development pipeline. You will also help develop Test, Evaluation, Verification, and Validation (TEV&V) procedures and techniques for IAS.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or ML research and development
  • Experience with algorithm development for robotics or machine learning
  • Experience with programming languages, including Python, C++, or Java
  • Ability to develop innovative ML models and algorithms and solutions to improve the performance of IAS
  • Ability to present research findings and recommendations to clients and executive leadership
  • Ability to build collaboration partnerships with industry and academic institutions
  • Ability to identify opportunities for innovation by keeping up with the latest developments in AI and ML technologies and autonomous systems technologies
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with ML, computer vision, and deep learning algorithms
  • Experience with DevOps tooling, pipelines, and building containerized applications to run in a Kubernetes environment
  • Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools, including GitLab CI/CD and Jenkins
  • Experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka
  • Experience leading a team of AI and ML engineers, researchers, and data scientists to develop and deploy advanced AI and ML technologies in autonomous systems
  • Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills, including R&D proposal writing
  • Possession of strong leadership and organization skills
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
