Meta Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) is seeking Research Scientist Interns to advance AI alignment and ML systems. Interns embed with a world-class team to tackle open questions end-to-end, from framing to experimentation to publication, driving their own projects with mentorship.

Applicants from ML, NLP, CV, RL, statistics, and social sciences are welcome. Internships run 12–24 weeks with multiple start dates annually, offering opportunities to contribute to research that informs Meta products.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, ML, AI or related field in progress or completed.
• Experience with Python and one of C/C++/Java; strong ML/background.
• First-author publication record in top ML/NLP/Systems venues.

Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art algorithms and systems for AI alignment.
• Analyze efficiency, scalability, stability, fairness, security, and privacy.
• Perform state-of-the-art ML research and publish results.
• Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners and share progress.
• Publish research applicable to Meta product development.
