Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is seeking an AHS / DIP Operator to operate, monitor and maintain After Hardening System and Dip coating equipment used in ice cream production. You will ensure ingredients, inclusions, coatings, and finished products meet quality and food safety standards.

This night shift role requires startup/shutdown and changeover activities, monitoring of process parameters, sanitation, and collaboration with Maintenance, QA, and Production to keep production running smoothly in a

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor AHS and DIP systems for ingredient handling, flavor injection, inclusion feeding, coating application, and product processing.
  • Verify ingredients, inclusions, flavors, and packaging prior to startup.
  • Ensure products meet formulations, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor temperatures, pressures, weights, and operating parameters throughout production.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures per SOPs.
  • Maintain continuous operation by addressing process issues before they impact production.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks for appearance, flavor, texture, weights, and ingredient distribution.
  • Follow HACCP, SQF, GMP, FDA and food safety requirements.
  • Document production and quality data accurately and timely.
  • Report any product quality concerns, deviations, or food safety issues.
  • Assist with investigations and corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment performance and perform routine inspections and minor troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Production leadership to resolve equipment issues.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and equipment improvements.
  • Ensure proper operation of pumps, valves, feeders, conveyors, injection systems.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation according to procedures.
  • Support allergen control and product changeovers.
  • Verify equipment cleanliness and production readiness before startup.
  • Maintain sanitation records and audit readiness.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The AHS / DIP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining After Hardening System (AHS) and Dip coating equipment used in the production of ice cream and frozen novelty products. This position ensures ingredients, inclusions, coatings, and finished products are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and operational performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Operations
  • Operate and monitor AHS and DIP systems used for ingredient handling, flavor injection, inclusion feeding, coating application, and product processing.
  • Verify ingredients, inclusions, flavors, and packaging materials prior to production startup.
  • Ensure production runs meet established formulations, product specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor product flow, temperatures, pressures, weights, and operating parameters throughout production.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain continuous operation by identifying and addressing process issues before they impact production.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
  • Conduct in-process quality checks including product appearance, flavor accuracy, texture, weights, and ingredient distribution.
  • Follow all HACCP, SQF, GMP, FDA, and food safety requirements.
  • Document production and quality data accurately and timely.
  • Immediately report any product quality concerns, process deviations, or food safety issues.
  • Assist with investigations and corrective actions regarding quality issues.
Equipment Operation & Troubleshooting
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify mechanical or operational abnormalities.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and minor troubleshooting as needed.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Production leadership to resolve equipment issues.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and equipment improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper operation of pumps, valves, feeders, conveyors, injection systems, and related processing equipment.
Sanitation & Compliance
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to established procedures.
  • Support allergen control programs and product changeovers.
  • Verify equipment cleanliness and production readiness before startup.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation documentation and records.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and audit-ready.
Safety & Teamwork
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and employee training activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
  • Previous manufacturing or food production experience preferred.
  • Experience operating automated production equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in dairy, frozen dessert, beverage, or food manufacturing environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to operate and monitor automated processing and production equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes, procedures, production schedules, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and production documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
