Abilene High School is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in building a competitive wrestling program that reflects our athletic and activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student-athlete development, wrestling fundamentals, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the head coach in planning and leading practices, competitions, and offseason workouts
• Help develop wrestlers’ technical skills, fundamentals, conditioning, strategy, and overall wrestling knowledge
• Work with student athletes to promote individual growth, confidence, discipline, and competitive mindset
• Model and reinforce our core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes while promoting academic accountability and personal responsibility
• Assist with communication to student-athletes, families, and school staff
• Help manage equipment and uniforms
• Collaborate with the coaching staff to support a vertically aligned wrestling program from youth through high school
• Support the development of a positive, competitive, and team-oriented wrestling culture
• Uphold all school, district, and KSHSAA policies and expectations
