Job summary

GAL is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Test Pilot (AH-64E) to lead flight testing and certifications of the AH-64E Apache helicopter. You will ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance while supporting military and commercial missions.

You will conduct maintenance test flights, inspections, and evaluations, mentor Local National MTPs, and coordinate with aircrew and TI functions as needed.

Qualifications

Job Summary

GAL is seeking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Test Pilot (AH-64E) to join our aviation maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive flight testing, evaluations, and certifications of the AH-64E Apache helicopter, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with all aviation standards. You will leverage your extensive helicopter flight experience, leadership skills, and technical expertise to support military and commercial flight operations, including complex turbine engine helicopter missions. Duties:

• Conduct maintenance test flights, functional check flights, and acceptance flights as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in accordance with contractual and customer requirements.
• Ensure aircraft maintenance, inspections, and technical records comply with TAMMS, OEM technical publications, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Plan and execute flight missions by assessing weather, airspace, aircraft configuration, crew capability, and operational requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-flight inspections, verifying aircraft configuration, weight and balance, fuel status, and mission equipment.
• Perform prescribed test maneuvers, evaluate normal and emergency aircraft systems, document results, and report discrepancies.
• Brief aircrew and passengers on mission requirements, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Maintain accurate flight, test, and maintenance documentation and submit required reports.
• Support limited Technical Inspector (TI) functions by verifying maintenance and modification activities.
• Conduct and supervise training for aircrew and Local National personnel on maintenance test flight procedures.
• Mentor and develop Local National MTPs to enhance their maintenance test flight capabilities.
• Work flexible hours as required to support operational and mission requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor / Associate Degree/ Higher Diploma in Aviation Maintenance along with FAA A&P License / 15R or 15Y qualification is required.
• AH-64D/E Maintenance Test Pilot Course from US Military is required. Graduate of AMOC Phase I course and the concerned aircraft MTPC (AMOC Phase II) or equivalent qualification.
• Must be able to attain and maintain a local military flight physical (class I), equivalent to the FAA (class II).
• Must be able to pass hands-on flight evaluation.
• Experience as Maintenance Examiner (ME) is preferred

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of overall aviation maintenance, including at least 5 years of test pilot experience.
• First Pilot Time (PIC): 1000 hours.
• MTP on AH-64E: Minimum 200 Hours.
• Must have strong knowledge of Army maintenance practices including The Army Maintenance Management System for Aviation (TAMMS-A), Aeronautical Equipment Maintenance Management Procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Production and Quality Control is highly preferred.
• At least 1 combat mission deployment exposure is highly desired.
