GAL in Abu Dhabi seeks a seasoned AH-64E Armament/Electrical/Avionics Systems Technician to inspect, repair, and service avionics, armament, and electrical systems on the Apache helicopter. Qualifications

  • FAA A&P license or equivalent is preferred.
  • High school diploma; aviation maintenance diploma a plus.
  • A&P license with AH-64E training or US Military AH-64 course.
  • Ability to obtain UAE driving license.
  • Minimum 10 years avionics/electrical maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 6 years on AH-64D/E Apache with ASE knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and test electrical, avionics, and armament systems per manuals and SOPs.
  • Maintain aircraft readiness and associated equipment at high levels.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities using approved forms and records.
  • Comply with safety and quality standards to ensure safe operations.
  • Provide OJT to customer technicians to develop armament, electrical, and avionics skills.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job description

BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE:

The AH-64E Armament/Electrical/Avionics Systems Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Apache helicopter, including but not limited to performing inspections at various maintenance levels (Unit, Intermediate, and Depot) for the AH-64E Apache. Also, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneudraulic systems associated with the armament and missile fire control systems.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of aircraft electrical, avionics, and armament systems in accordance with applicable technical publications, regulations, and SOPs.

  • Maintain aircraft and associated equipment at a high level of mission readiness.

  • Accurately document all maintenance activities using approved forms, records, and procedures.

  • Comply with safety and quality standards to ensure safe operations and high-quality workmanship.

  • Provide technical guidance and On-the-Job Training (OJT) to customer technicians to develop self-sufficient armament, electrical, and avionics maintenance capabilities.

  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor in support of unit operations.


Required Qualifications:


  • FAA A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) License / Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license is preferred.

  • Minimum High-School Diploma or Diploma in Aviation Maintenance or Aeronautical Engineering is a plus.

  • A&P License along with formal AH64E Training, or US Military 15Y – AH-64 Armament/Electrical/Avionics Systems Repairer Course or equivalent qualification

  • Must be able to attain a UAE Driving License.


Required Experience:


  • Minimum 10 years of aircraft avionics and electrical maintenance experience.

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with the AH-64D/E Apache, including advanced knowledge of avionics, armament systems, electrical systems, and Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE).

  • Prior combat deployment experience is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard aviation maintenance tools, specialized test equipment, diagnostic instruments, and ground support equipment (GSE).

  • Strong understanding of military aviation maintenance procedures, technical publications, maintenance documentation, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain complex aircraft electrical, avionics, and armament systems while ensuring mission readiness and operational safety.
