Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC seeks a detail-oriented Inventory & AGV Operations Specialist to monitor automated guided vehicles, manage material flow and ensure inventory accuracy within buffer and staging areas.

You will troubleshoot AGV systems, assist with software updates, and coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve issues while supporting continuous improvement in automation and material handling processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Inventory Control, Materials Management, Warehousing, or Manufacturing Operations.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and handheld scanning devices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily AGV performance and ensure uninterrupted material delivery to production areas.
• Respond to faults, alarms, and interruptions of AGV systems.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting and recovery of AGV systems.
• Execute AGV route validations, testing, and operational checks.
• Assist with AGV software updates, configuration changes, and deployment activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, IT, Maintenance, and AGV vendors to resolve issues.
• Support efficient movement of raw materials from buffer locations to lineside areas.
• Validate material replenishment processes and ensure availability at point of use.
• Monitor and optimize buffer inventory levels to support production.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to material flow processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation and inventory optimization.
• Maintain inventory accuracy within AGV-serviced areas.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Support cycle counts and reconciliation.
• Ensure transactions in ERP/MRP are accurate and timely.
• Monitor compliance with material handling procedures.
• Develop standard work instructions for AGV operations.
• Train material handlers on AGV interaction procedures.
• Document troubleshooting activities and corrective actions.
• Assist in developing best practices for automated material delivery systems.
• Promote safe interaction between employees and automated equipment.
• Ensure AGV operating areas meet plant safety standards.

Training & Documentation

Safety & Compliance

• Promote safe interaction between employees and automated equipment.
• Ensure AGV operating areas remain compliant with plant safety standards.
• Participate in safety audits and corrective action activities.
• Adhere to all company policies, quality requirements, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Experience participating in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Technical training, certifications, or coursework related to automation, robotics, or industrial technology.
