Job summary

Silgan Dispensing seeks a warehouse/production materials operator to manage material flow to and from the warehouse and production floor. You will orchestrate forklift movements and AGV activity to support production, shipping, receiving and inventory control.

The role requires forklift certification, basic troubleshooting of AGV systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• GED or equivalent education required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Must complete entry level skills test.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to deliver/receive material to/from production.
• Monitor AGV activities using Login Control Center, ProTraQ, and additional software systems.
• Make corrections to inventory using barcode scanners and ProTraQ system.
• Re-issue/cancel jobs and adjust using barcode scanners and ProTraQ.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, logging and reporting of AGV issues.
• Manual intervention and operation of AGVs.
• Must have forklift certification.
• Load and unload trailers as needed.
• Monitor conveyor systems.

Job description

SUMMARY

The primary function of the position is to manage material flow to/from the warehouse and on the production floor. Material flow can be managed but not limited to forklifts, narrow aisle forklifts, and AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) movement. Coordinate and respond to AGV activities either manually or through computer systems in relation to production and inventory issues. Manage all AGV activities by understanding the priorities by which the activities need to be completed (i.e Production demands - jobs in both the warehouse and in production, shipping, receiving and shuffling of product). LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and maintenance work orders, communicate effectively and present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
