Job summary

Cooperative Farmers Elevator seeks an Agronomy Intern to support the Sales and Agronomy teams in Iowa. You will gain experience across agronomy sales, field scouting, ag fairs, and direct customer interactions.

Role involves assisting with crop protection products, seeds, and other agronomy services, plus hands-on learning from industry experts and cooperative systems. Seasonal hours and teamwork are expected.

Work with Sales and Agronomy department to gain an educational experience with opportunities in multiple facets of agronomy including agronomy sales, field scouting, ag fairs, and customer interactions.

Requirements

Agronomy Intern

• Play a crucial role in helping to feed the world

• Assisting Agronomists with grower's crop protection chemicals, seed or other agronomy products and/or services
• Field scouting
• Sort seed on pallets, organize and inventory

Reporting

• Inform your supervisor of discrepancies in your reports as soon as you are aware of them
• Inform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your department
• Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisor
• Report any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately

Safety and Compliance

• Uphold cooperative policies
• Follow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and Federal
• Attend employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director or location

Other Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Collaboratively work with location, departmental personnel

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work long seasonal hours and in seasonal environments
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and demonstrate good attention to detail
• Detailed oriented to provide accurate and consistent work
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Valid driver's license
