Job summary

Cooperative Farmers Elevator seeks an Agronomy Intern to gain experience across agronomy sales, field scouting, ag fairs, and grower/customer interactions. You will assist agronomists with crop protection products, seed, and services while collaborating with the Sales and Agronomy teams.

You will learn the ins and outs of the cooperative system, participate in field scouting, and engage with growers and customers in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with Sales and Agronomy department to gain experience in agronomy sales, field scouting, ag fairs, and customer interactions.
• Assist Agronomists with crop protection chemicals, seed, or other agronomy products and/or services.
• Conduct field scouting as part of overall crop management.
• Support the sales and agronomy teams and engage with growers.

Requirements

• Assisting Agronomists with grower's crop protection chemicals, seed or other agronomy products and/or services
• Field scouting
• Sort seed on pallets, organize and inventory

Reporting

• Inform your supervisor of discrepancies in your reports as soon as you are aware of them
• Inform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your department
• Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisor
• Report any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately

Safety and Compliance

• Uphold cooperative policies
• Follow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and Federal
• Attend employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director or location

Other Duties
