About Betafeld

Betafeld LLC is a technology company advancing AI- and optimization-driven infrastructure for produce supply chains. Our patented technology, MatLoop, integrates artificial intelligence, produce quality assessment, and mathematical optimization to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce agricultural food waste, and create economic opportunities across the produce industry.

We are currently developing and validating MatLoop in preparation for commercialization, with a focus on connecting technological innovation with practical agricultural and supply‑chain needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Agricultural Specialist to support the market validation, pilot testing, and commercialization preparation of MatLoop.

The ideal candidate will bring practical experience in agriculture, agribusiness, fresh produce, food systems, or related supply‑chain activities, along with strong communication skills and an interest in agricultural technology.

This is a customer‑facing, collaborative role that connects agricultural industry needs with product development. The successful candidate will engage with producers, buyers, and logistics stakeholders, support real‑world pilot activities, and help translate customer feedback into actionable product and business insights.

The position also offers a potential pathway into broader product marketing and commercialization leadership. As MatLoop advances toward market deployment, the successful candidate may have opportunities to progress into roles such as Product Marketing Manager or Chief Commercialization Officer, depending on demonstrated performance, leadership capabilities, company growth, and available funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with farmers, produce suppliers, buyers, distributors, and logistics providers to understand their needs, challenges, and current practices.

  • Conduct customer discovery interviews and support market validation to assess product‑market fit.

  • Identify and engage potential pilot participants, early customers, and industry partners.

  • Coordinate and support real‑world prototype testing and pilot activities, including gathering feedback and documenting results.

  • Work with the product and technical teams to translate agricultural and customer requirements into practical product improvements.

  • Support the evaluation of MatLoop's produce quality assessment, supply‑demand matching, and logistics capabilities from an industry and customer perspective.

  • Gather insights on customer adoption, purchasing behavior, commercial opportunities, and barriers to market entry.

  • Contribute to go‑to‑market planning, customer engagement strategies, and commercialization preparation.

  • Maintain clear records of customer interactions, pilot activities, findings, and follow‑up actions.

  • Participate in regular virtual team meetings and travel occasionally for customer visits, pilot activities, and industry engagement.

Qualifications

Required

  • Relevant experience or educational background in agriculture, agribusiness, fresh produce, food systems, supply‑chain operations, business development, or a related field.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with potential customers and industry stakeholders.

  • Ability to conduct customer interviews, gather feedback, and communicate findings clearly.

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to coordinate activities, maintain records, and follow through on commitments.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary remote team.

  • Interest in technology‑driven solutions for agriculture and food supply chains.

  • Authorization to work in the United States.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the United States.

Preferred

  • Experience working with agricultural producers, fresh produce buyers, distributors, or logistics providers.

  • Experience in customer discovery, market research, pilot programs, or product‑market validation.

  • Familiarity with agricultural technology, produce supply chains, or food‑waste reduction initiatives.

  • Experience in business development, customer acquisition, partnerships, or commercialization activities.

  • Existing professional relationships within the agricultural or food industry.

  • Experience working in a startup, innovation‑focused company, or technology development environment.

Prior experience with artificial intelligence, mathematical optimization, or software development is not required.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly compensation of $35–$55, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Flexible, part‑time remote work, up to 20 hours per week.

  • Opportunity to contribute to a patented agricultural technology innovation with significant commercialization potential.

  • Collaboration with a world‑class, multidisciplinary team of experts in agriculture, artificial intelligence, mathematical optimization, and supply‑chain technology.

  • Hands‑on involvement in customer engagement, product validation, real‑world pilots, and commercialization preparation.

  • Potential for career advancement into full‑time employment and product marketing or commercialization leadership positions as the company grows, based on performance, demonstrated capabilities, business needs, and available funding.
