Job summary

Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners in Columbia, MO is seeking a full-time Service Technician to perform complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment, with opportunities to work in the field and mentor junior technicians.

You will document work orders, follow safety rules, and stay current on John Deere products. A high school diploma or GED is required; CDL preferred. Experience with Service ADVISOR and strong teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

Experience performing service repairs.
Meet performance metrics preferred.
Experience with tools and equipment following manuals.
Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
Experience operating vehicles and diagnostic tools.
Experience with basic computer functions; Service ADVISOR or similar is preferred.
Experience working in a team.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Adequate toolset; High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
Time management skills.

Responsibilities

Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman.
Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology.
Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
Conducts or supports customer clinics.
Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information.
May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
