Job summary

The University at Buffalo School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty position in the DNP Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner program. This role focuses on teaching, student mentoring, and service within a diverse academic community.

The candidate will partner with clinical sites, participate in admissions and governance, maintain clinical expertise, and advance nursing knowledge through scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• PhD or DNP from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current national AGNP or ANP certification.
• Current New York State RN license.
• Minimum 3 years of AGNP/ANP practice experience.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Classroom and online didactic teaching.
• Mentor, supervise, and evaluate students in clinical and simulated learning environments.
• Assist during admissions process with student application review and orientation.
• Collaborate with clinical placement coordinator to secure high-quality outpatient clinical sites for students.
• Perform clinical practicum site visits to evaluate student progress and maintain relationships with preceptors.
• Facilitates and ensures safe, interdisciplinary, evidence-based patient-centered care throughout learning experiences.
• Maintain an active record of extracurricular activities and encourage student participation with faculty.
• Contribute to nursing knowledge through scholarship activities and student mentoring.
• Participate in School of Nursing and University committees and governance; engage in professional organizations.
• Maintain clinical nursing expertise and certification.
