We are looking for a passionate Assistant General Manager - Service Director to join our client's team in Brooklyn, NY. They're a wine bar serving small plates and natural wines in Clinton Hill. Ideally, the candidate has similar management experience in well-esteemed restaurants and a passion for natural wine, who wants to join a growing Restaurant Group looking to make a lasting impact on New York City's dining scene.

The Service Director Role

We are searching for a passionate Service Director to join us in creating a relaxed, comfortable, and unique experience for our guests. We are a small, driven team and are seeking someone looking to grow with our company and bring meaningful contributions to our service and operations.

The hire will be responsible for ensuring operations are executed to the highest standards, while working closely with the General Manager and partners. Other responsibilities include: overseeing service, training staff, as well as administrative responsibilities. We are looking for someone who lives the spirit of service and being able to connect with guests and team members alike.

Management Responsibilities

  • Leadership by example, including involvement in regular service to our standards and supporting service where needed.
  • Opening and closing managerial responsibilities
  • Financial/cash handling
  • Operational administrative tasks
  • Management of Dining Team - setting up for service, oversight during service, and closing up each shift to our standards.
  • Floor management - engaging with guests, troubleshooting issues, managing flow of service and management of book and the host team, communicating with the kitchen and dining room team
  • Implementing training of Dining Team to our standards, including continued development of team’s service standards as well as food and beverage knowledge.
  • Oversight of reservations and providing support to Maitre D and the host team through each service.
  • Enforcing educational and disciplinary processes and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Ordering restaurant and office supplies
  • Assisting in customer service communication and supporting the Maitre D
  • Support role in partnership with General Manager and partners to manage social media communications around regular posts as well as special events and newsworthy updates for the community.
