Job summary

The NYC Department for the Aging seeks a Strategic Performance Analyst to design and maintain data reports using Tableau, SQL and related tools. The role involves data extraction, cleaning, and validation to support provider monitoring and decision-making.

Strong communication is essential for presenting findings to diverse audiences. Ideal candidates will develop data-driven programs and policies to help older New Yorkers remain active and safely supported at home, with residency requirements

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a physical, biological, environmental science or public health.
  • PhD or equivalent with supervisory/research experience in the field.
  • Master's with three years of full-time research experience or equivalent; two years substitution allowed.
  • Probationary period of one year.

Responsibilities

  • Code and/or program data management using Tableau, SQL, R, Python, and related tools to pull data from NYC Aging sources.
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports for performance monitoring.
  • Clean, validate, and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Implement data quality checks and governance processes to protect data integrity.
  • Respond to information requests and provide ad hoc reports on programs and services.
  • Communicate findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
